THE EDWINSFORD ESTATE
O.S. ref 632347
THE BOTHY is a recently converted stone cowshed with original beams in the hamlet of LLETHR LLWYD which is right in the middle of the Edwinsford Estate over a mile from the public road. Approached by a stone track, not suitable for Porches but not requiring a 4x4 either, just don't go too fast (!)
"In a lifetime of fishing I have only found one cottage more comfortable - a luxury fishing lodge in Canada"
Alan Church August 2006
The Bothy is on the north side of the hill about 150 feet above the river and just 250 yards from the river.
The fishing now extends to over five and a half miles of double bank fishing of great variety from slow deep pools much liked by sewin, open meadows with natural and man made pools and several miles of wooded river with generally faster flows. The fishery provides excellent fly water for night and daytime fishing when the conditions are right as well as other stretches better suited to spinning. The Blackbird's Fancy is "tolerated" after 16th June until 10th October when catch and release become compulsory.
There are miles of paths, tracks along the river, through the woods and across open country which provide spectacular walking and cycling, either on the flat or some parts which are guaranteed to set your heart going rather faster! Over 200,000 deciduous trees have been planted in the last 4 years which creates extremely varied habitat for wildlife - an aboretum (in its infancy) adds to the interest.
The Bothy which is centrally heated consists of :
Entrance hall with seating, radiator for drying and plenty of hooks for outdoor clothing and fishing equipment
Shower-room with integral shower, toilet and basin
Open plan living area with Sky television, built in wardrobe and either twin or king sized double bed + Z bed - also kitchen area with :
